A Look Inside A Cothold

Those who choose to live outside the Hold proper, live in either Minor Holds, the Mine CraftHall, or in Cotholds. 

Cotholds that lie within the Territory of Crom are small one to three story boxlike stone buildings, with slate roofs and bronze window shutters. 

There are plots of land for whatever crops the cotholder is raising (crops that can withstand the weather at Crom, such as, herbs, grains, vegetables) and, some cotholders are raising ovines (sheep) especially for tithes to Crom, and they have a few herdbeasts to help with labor. 

Each family of cotholders use cromcoal for heating and cooking but because it is so expensive, they prefer to use pine or softwood. There is usually only a sparse number of furniture items such as a wooden table and chairs, rugs, perhaps some tapestries, garment chests, and beds made of rush bags and furs. Most cotholds have a storage room for crops and medicinal herbs, and a small bathing room.
